Jesus is known for saying I am the way the truth qnd the life and also for saying, when questioned by John B. as to whether he was truly the messiah or should the Jews wait for another, "Blessed is he who is not scandalized by me". (This phrase "blessed are you" was used in the Sermon on the Mount, and also to confirm Peter as the Pope. )
Another image associated with the scandal of the cross is that the stone rejected by the builders has become the stone of the corner which comports with I say to you Simon that you are a rock and upon this rock I will build my people.
This was the inspiration for the name of the skandalon school, an early iteration of Uriel's featuring fairy stories and phenomena. The school has since moved to the borders of heaven, but is reorganizing on earth pending the reelection of the provost (which might be God).
